My Interview with River Viiperi

I’m very excited to publish today’s blog post. Why? Well the blog title already reveals it 😉 This past week I got the chance to do a Q&A with the one and only…RIVER VIIPERI!

A couple of weeks ago I have already written a blog post about him which you can read here. I kind of summarized his life. I talked about his childhood, his job, etc. But this blog post is different because it’s an actual interview with him.

I would like to thank his manager Joseph for his help and of course a massive thank you to River himself. Thank you so much for taking some time to answer my questions. I’m really happy with the outcome of this interview and I hope that people will like it as well. I’m pretty sure they will 🙂

WORK

Alissa: You’ve recently put your focus back on your career as a model. What can we expect in the future? Are you going to return to the catwalk?

River: Yup, after a little 2 year break I’m back! 😀 I like to make things exciting so for those who might be interested in my future, you can follow me on Instagram and Twitter @RiverViiperi 😛 I won’t disappoint you guys! Campaigns, Catwalks and lots more!

Alissa: What do you like most about your job as a model?

River: Meeting people, traveling, discovering new cultures, there are so many things that I couldn’t just pick one thing. Another great thing is proving people wrong. Denying the common myths of the modeling world.

Alissa: If you weren’t a model, what would your job be?

River: My passion as a kid were numbers (favorite subject in school was Math :P) and I was obsessed with the stock market, investment banking, commodities, etc… So that is something I still want to get into at some point.

Alissa: You’ve launched your own fashion brand a couple of years ago. Are you thinking about launching new designs at some point?

River: Yeah I did a small launch to  study the market I could sell to, etc and now that I know, I’ll be launching my brand River V. again hopefully by the end of the year.

TRAVEL

Alissa: As I am a travel blogger I would really like to talk about your move from Los Angeles to New York. Which city do you prefer and why?

River: I started Living in NY for three years before moving to LA where I lived for two years before moving back to NY and both cities are absolutely amazing. They are like the Yin and Yang. The reason I moved back to NY is because here is where I left my life, so I had to come back and work is a lot better for me if I’m based out here in the Big Apple. I do see myself moving back to LA at some point of my life to pursue acting which has been on my to do list since I moved to the United States. Life in LA is stress free I feel like, you have the great weather, the beach, hiking, it’s just a very healthy environment if you surround yourself with good people. (That’s what’s hard to find out there)

Alissa: Can you name your favorite place in each city?

River:

NY – Home.

LA – The Beach.

Alissa: Do you want to live in New York for the rest of your life or do you see yourself back in Europe in a couple of years as Europe is your original home?

River: I definitely don’t see myself back in Europe. I do see myself in the US, probably more LA than NY tho I think LA is a more family oriented city/lifestyle.

Alissa: As a model you travel a lot. What are your favorite cities in the world and why?

River:

1. Dubai – Incredible city, all those new buildings, people are so respectful it’s just great.
2. London – I recently started to like London as I had a great trip there last week. Wish the weather was better but with friends it is a great city.
3. Helsinki & Madrid – it’s where I grew up and when I go I get to see my family and friends so it’s very refreshing.

INTERESTS

Alissa: Your Instagram photos show that you are really into work-outs. Apart from sports what do you like to do in your leisure time?

River: I recently (this last year) started really focusing on myself, for the first time in my life I am learning how to love myself and be happy being alone (something I’ve always hated) and apart from sports I’m into lots of things… Anything that involves being with friends and having fun, movies, partying, traveling, etc…

Alissa: Could you tell me one thing that people wouldn’t expect about you? Any hidden talents maybe or a special kind of music you listen to that nobody expected?

River: So many… Just because of being a model people think and assume so many things that are usually not true. But it’s hard to answer this question about myself. Other people that know me could answer it better I believe 😀

Alissa: Everybody has a bucket list. What is on yours?

River: That’s something I won’t answer, anyone can have a bucket list. But I’d rather show you what’s on mine than tell you. 😉

Alissa: If you had one day on which you could do whatever you want, what would you do?

River: My job isn’t a 9-5 office job so we get free days every now and then and when I do I usually like to relax home as that is what I don’t get to do that often when working and traveling 😀

LIFE

Alissa: What is your favorite childhood memory?

River: One Christmas, I don’t remember how old I was but I remember being with my family (something I haven’t being able to do for over 6 years) I got my first set of golf clubs, the living room was PACKED with presents, my dad read us Winnie de Pooh. We even got to see Santa (a friend of my mom tricked us). It’s probably the happiest memory I have.

Alissa: What was your most memorable day in your life so far – a moment that makes you happy?

River: 14th of September of 2009 when I left Spain to give modeling a try and 3 months later was capable of supporting myself and helping support my family at such a young age.

Alissa: Who is your role model and why?

River: This is going to sound very stupid and probably not just stupid but here it goes… Haha I am my own role model. I have overcome so many things in my life and that has helped me become who I am today and now I enjoy helping others that are going thru similar things.

Alissa: If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be?

River: Nothing. Everything happens for a reason.
