CIMG6149When I tell someone about Westminster Cathedral they’re always like “you mean Westminster Abbey, right?”. The answer is no! In fact Westminster Abbey is way more famous than the Cathedral but I can tell you that the Cathedral is as interesting as Westminster Abbey.

Westminster Cathedral is the mother church of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. It is located just around the corner of Victoria Tube Station. I visited Westminster Cathedral on a weekend day during my internship in London. I wanted to see the church and go on top of the tower to enjoy the view over London. I didn’t take photos inside but let me show you some from the outside.

The Tower Viewing Gallery guarantees a pretty view over the city  (as long as the weather is all right…London and its weather). As I have seen on the website the tower is currently closed due to vital engineering work. Hopefully it reopens very soon so you can visit the tower as well. By the way it didn’t cost a lot of money. I think I paid £ 3 as a student and I was allowed to stay there and enjoy the view as long as I wanted. Now enjoy the view yourself…

Have you visited Westminster Cathedral? Let me know in the comments below or tweet me 🙂
