If you thought the Côte d’Azur is all about the Mediterranean Sea, you are wrong. Well obviously the ocean is breathtaking but there are also some beautiful azure lakes in the hinterland of the French Riviera. One of them is Lac de Saint-Cassien which is only a 35km car journey from Cannes. The lake is surrounded by beautiful nature with thousands of trees and huge mountains in the back. You’ll see that it’s a picture-perfect view! People come to the lake for swimming and sunbathing but also for fun activities like boating or kayaking.
When you are there you forget about the jetset life in Cannes and Saint-Tropez and just enjoy the silence and the beauty of nature and you feel free, carefree and happy. Sometimes it is so important to take a break from daily life and just let go of all the stress and thoughts that you are dealing with every day. After such a wonderful day at the lake you will feel refreshed and ready to get back to real life. I definitely needed and loved it 🙂
