CIMG3443Today is the day – the #EURO2016 final in Stade de France in Paris. France against Portugal. So I thought today is the perfect day to take you on a tour through Old Trafford, an important place in the history of football. Old Trafford is the stadium of the football club Manchester United. A club where stars like Cristiano Ronaldo or David Beckham have started their careers. Manchester United Football Club, as it is officially called, was founded back in 1902.

When I went to Manchester with my English class in 2010 I knew that I wanted to visit Old Trafford, not only because I am a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo but also because it is one of the most famous and important stadiums in the world. I just wanted to get an impression of the place that was and still is so significant for the football history. So while most of the girls went shopping in Manchester the boys and I took the train to Old Trafford.

The guide took us to the players’ tunnel, turned the music on and let us walk onto the field like we were football players ourselves. I loved the idea and it was so much fun to get the feeling the players have when they walk through this tunnel.

Here we are…right inside Old Trafford stadium. It was huge and very impressive.

Look at that grass! They used special lighting equipment to make it grow and look like that.

We were also allowed to visit the players’ dressing room. It was cool to imagine that all the players get ready for the game in there and in that moment I was standing there, right in the spot where players like Nani or Rooney get dressed and prepare for the next game 😉

Outside the stadium we found this car. Isn’t that cool!?

As a result I can say that we had an amazing time visiting the stadium and I would definitely recommend it if you are in Manchester and you are interested in football and the history of football. If you’re a fan there is no excuse not to visit Old Trafford 😉

I hope you like this post (which is a little bit different than the posts I usually do but as I really like football I thought it also has to be part of my blog, as the blog is all about me and my interests so there you go).

I hope you’re watching the #EURO2016 final tonight. Have a great Sunday 🙂

Love,
