Let’s go on a hike through the English countryside, shall we!? Back in 2010 my English class and I were planning a study trip to England. My teacher suggested different cities and activities and a hike was one of the options. Everyone was like: “A hike!? Really!? We never thought about something like that but ok, let’s do it” So we did. Our main destination was Liverpool but we also visited Manchester, York and eventually the famous Yorkshire Dales. When we arrived there we were all amazed by the beauty of the nature. There were the most beautiful mountains and hills, rivers, lakes and fields.

Now c’mon and join me on this adventure…

Malham Cove is the most famous limestone rock out there and seeing that live was stunning 🙂

One of the coolest moments of that day in the nature was probably the fact that we were on the set of a Harry Potter movie. Do you recognize these grey rocks? Harry Potter was camping out there in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. So cool!

Then we climbed up the waterfall to explore more hidden places. In this photo you can see Gordale Scar, the limestone gorge in the Yorkshire Dales.

Here’s another hidden place – the waterfall called Janet’s Foss.

Looking at these photos again makes me miss this day. My classmates and I had so much fun and even if you are not the biggest fan of hikes I can only recommend giving it a try because the English countryside has so much to offer and especially the Yorkshire Dales 🙂 Have you ever gone on a hike somewhere? Let me know in the comments below!

P.S.: If you are in Los Angeles make sure to go on a hike up Runyon Canyon. The view you have over the city from there is stunning!
