When you’re in Hollywood doing a Movie Stars’ Homes Tour is a must! Nowhere else in the world live so many celebrities in one spot. Actually they don’t live the district of Hollywood. You will most likely find them in areas like Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills or the Hollywood Hills with fantastic views on downtown L.A.
First thing we did on our first full day was to go to Hollywood Boulevard and get tickets for the tour. A man from Starline Line Tours who we met on Hollywood Boulevard asked us if we wanna do such a tour. We said yes and about 30 minutes later we were sat in one of their small busses on our way to (hopefully) see some celebrities…or at least their houses or I would rather say mansions. If you are interested in the tour of this company click here. There are also a lot of other bus companies that offer such tours. The top gossip source TMZ offers a Hollywood Tour as well. The price per adult varies between 40 and 60 Dollars.
But now back to our tour. Cruising down Sunset Boulevard along all the beautiful streets with huge palm trees made me feel like I was in a movie. It just looked so beautiful. The sun was shining and we were about to see some really cool neighbourhoods of Los Angeles.
Now get ready for some of the celebrity mansions that we drove past…
This is Keanu Reeves house
The entrance of Courtney Cox’s house (she plays Monica in “Friends”)
Christina Aguilera (one of my favourite singers ever!!!!) lives in the following house
The first thing I noticed was that there were no sidewalks in Beverly Hill, Bel Air, etc. I guess that’s because of the huge size of Greater Los Angeles and everybody needs a car to go somewhere due to the long distances. Never underestimate distances in America – trust me, they are looooong 😉 . The second thing was that everything was so green: the front gardens and the plants and trees in the streets. Now imagine being in such a beautiful area, it’s warm, the sun is shining and there’s a bright blue sky…I felt like I was in paradise. Would you agree? Furthermore it was pretty unsual that the only people we saw there were gardeners. Oh and dog walkers! I’ve heard about that American trend in the news before and I think it’s a lot more popular in the USA than it is in Europe.
Anyways…do you wanna see more photos of the mansions? Here we go…
The Hiltons live in this beautiful mansion
The entrance of the house where Michael Jackson lived before he died (when in L.A. we also visited his family home in Encino and his final resting place but I’m gonna do another blog post about that soon. Keep your eyes peeled!)
This is Peter Falk’s house (The man who played “Columbo”)
Another beautiful house. It looks amazing, right?
Cruising through L.A.
Driving past the beautiful Chateau Marmont
Jennifer Aniston’s mansion (we actually saw her when she drove out with her car. I couldn’t take a photo though because she was too fast and the car windows were quite dark).
Can you guess who this entrance belongs to? Can you see the stars on top? This is the entrance to Ringo Starr’s home. He was the drummer of the Beatles.
This is the Starline car that took us everywhere.
Our last stop was a viewpoint on Mulholland Drive. Now take a look at the stunning view we had from there. SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
