The studio where the Harry Potter movies were filmed is a must-see for every fan and anyone who loves movies and wants to get a BTS-impression. The Warner Brothers Studio is located near Watford which is only a 20-minute-train ride from London Euston. From Watford Junction (Watford’s train station) you can take one of the Harry Potter busses that takes you directly to the studio. The bus ride itself is already a cool experience because they play interviews and BTS-videos of the movies plus you also listen to the soundtrack from Harry Potter.

Then we arrived at the studio and the entrance hall itself was already magical. It felt a bit like Disneyland. If you have been there you’ll know what I mean. Film music is playing and everywhere are photos and  merch from Harry Potter and the other actors.

The first room we entered was a movie theater where actors like Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint welcomed you to the studio.

And after that video, all of a sudden, the screen became the entrance to the Great Hall. Isn’t that awesome!?

That was me back in 2012 😉

Now come and join me on my tour through the studio. I’m sure, if you have seen all the movies, you’ll remember a lot of the sets and props 🙂 But make sure to grab a cup of tea or coffee first because there will be a lot of photos 😉 So here we go…

Costumes for the Christmas ball

The ceiling of the Great Hall

Harry’s bedroom

Dumbledore’s office

Classroom to mix magic potions

Hagrid’s house and his motorbike

Professor Umbridge’s office. So girly in pink 😉

The “triple-decker” bus

The famous bridge of Hogwarts

The house of Harry’s uncle where he used to live before he went to Hogwarts

For me one of the highlights of this studio tour was definitely walking through Diagon Alley. That was an awesome experience because it really felt like I was in a movie myself. It felt so real!

It was also cool to see the development of a set. The creators first made sketches and then built little models of every room before they built it as real set.

My second highlight was seeing Hogwarts. They built this huge model and filmed it with a camera for the outdoor shots. I always thought it was done with a computer but they actually filmed this model for it.

I had a fun day at the studios and I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in London and are looking for something special to do! For more information about the studio click here and if you would like to order tickets in advance (what I highly recommend) click here.

I have visited the studio back in 2012 and I’ve heard that they changed and added some things so there should be even more to discover for you!

If you have already been there let me know in the comments below and tell me about your experiences and impressions 🙂
