Last weekend my girls and I spent an amazing weekend in Vlissingen, Netherlands, together. We know each other for about 8 years now and since everybody has moved to different cities in Germany after our a-levels to study and work it is always great to get back together – if it is only for an evening in our hometown or, like this time, a long weekend in Holland. My friend has booked a house on airbnb for us. I have never stayed in an airbnb house but it was pretty awesome. The house had three floors and was located in a narrow street right in the city center of Vlissingen and just a stone’s throw away from the beach and the North Sea.
The living room…that looks so cosy right!? That’s what I like about airbnb houses and apartments. It feels like you are a guest at somebody’s home and not just one of hundreds staying at a hotel.
Those were two of the three bedrooms.
If you would like to see more photos of the house we rented and for more information about it you can visit the airbnb page of the house here.
We arrived in the afternoon so after unpacking we made our way to the beach. Here’s the first group photo I took of my girls 🙂
And then my friend took a photo so I can be in the photo as well 😉
Everybody was so happy to escape everyday life and to relax for a couple of days…
If you are in the Netherlands and at the North Sea you just have to eat fish and chips, so of course that’s what we did on the first day in Vlissingen 😉
My girls were having way too much fun on the cannon 😀 (and take a look at the guy on the bench in the back who photobombed this photo hahaha)
Ice cream with disco dip for dessert. That’s how you make us happy 😉
Then it was time for a little beach walk…
The next day we went back to the beach to play a game called ‘Kubb’. It was a lot of fun!
Day 3 started with a delicious breakfast. My friend has thought of literally everything that we needed to have a hotel-like breakfast. So yummy!
That day we rented bikes to drive along the coast to a city called Zoutelande (unfortunately I didn’t take a photo of us with the bikes. Sorry for that. I don’t know why I forgot…)
Cheers to a wonderful weekend 🙂
We finally asked someone to take a photo of all of us. Love it 🙂
The last day of our long weekend arrived quicklier than we thought. Times flies when you’re having so much fun. We headed to the beach for the last time to say goodbye before we had to leave and make our way back to Germany.
Goodbye Vlissingen – we had a really great time!
I would like to thank my girls for the amazing weekend we had with so much laughter! I love you guys <3 and I hope that we will plan such a girls trip for next year soon 🙂
Love,
Alissa
